The rules of bingo vary somewhat from site to site, but here are some general rules every player should know:
A bingo card has twenty-four numbers and one free space that are arranged in a grid. There are five lines across and five columns down. Above the five columns of numbers, the word bingo is spelled out, with one letter above each column. At random, numbers are drawn from one to seventy-five. The letters under the B are from 1-15, 16-30 under the I, 31-45 under the N, plus a free space, 46-60 under the G, and 61-75 under the O. The free space is covered before the game begins and is a freebie to help the player along. The number would be called out as B12, I27, N38, and etc. As each number is called, if the player has the number on their card, they mark, or daub, the space.
This continues until the player has covered the required pattern needed for a win. These patterns can vary from game to game. The most common pattern is to cover a line all the way across or a column all the way down. All sorts of patterns are played in bingo. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the pattern required for a win before you begin the game.
When the player has covered the required pattern, they win. In a real bingo hall, they would yell “BINGO” loud enough for the caller or spotter to hear. Most bingo halls require the player to yell bingo before the next number is called or they will forfeit the card and the game. In most online sites, the player hits the “BINGO” button, telling the site who the game. Some sites are now auto daubing cards and will automatically call bingo for the player. In all bingo games, all players who have completed the pattern on the card at the same time, with the same number called, will win, after the card is verified. The card is usually verified immediately at the online sites. In a bingo hall, the winning pattern is verified by the bingo caller. The players that win will either split the jackpot equally or will receive the total jackpot.
Bingo is a very simple game to play, but it has many variations. Make sure you understand the rules to the specific game you are playing. Good Luck!

Did you know that …

... there are two types of bingo played around the world?

North America plays 75-ball bingo on a 5x5 card with the centre square usually marked 'free'. In the UK, parts of Europe, Australia and parts of South America they play a 90-ball game, marked on a 9x3 card. Both types of bingo are prominent online.

Unlike balls used in regular bingo halls, online bingo sites use a random number generator. The online bingo play works almost exactly like playing online poker or online casino games with everything being virtual. Most bingo halls also offer links to online poker and casino offerings. One notable feature of online bingo is the chat functionality that gives the opportunity to interact with other players.

Useful Tips

If you are going to try online bingo for the first time look for the best no deposit bingo and free bingo sites. Experience the game with the calm deriving from the awareness that you are not risking your own money, nevertheless you can win some good bucks.

Progressive jackpot bingo games offer high value cash prizes. The jackpot is accumulated over a period of time, often taken from payments made to play smaller games. Usually as each new card pattern emerges, the pattern will have a number defining the amount of calls needed to claim the Jackpot. If players obtain a Bingo in this amount of calls or less then they will win the Progressive Jackpot. But rules are different for the different online bingo halls, so check before playing.
